I’m really excited to be taking part in the celebrations for the Diamond Jubilee Pageant down in London tomorrow. I’ve been selected along with 20 other artists to paint the flotilla of boats from the Millennium Bridge and we’ll be filmed live by the BBC. Coverage starts at about 1:30pm on BBC1 and finishes at around 6pm and the cameras will be on us at various points during the broadcast. Anneka Rice will be doing the presenting from the bridge. I’m hoping to do two or three studies if I can and will have to be on my toes as those boats certainly won’t be sitting still!
Should be a great day out painting and being part of the big Diamond Jubilee party! The weather forecast looks dodgy but who cares….it’s all about getting stuck in and enjoying the moment :) There’s a BBC video which describes the pageant route (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18295950) and the official site has some really interesting facts about the pageant (http://www1.thamesdiamondjubileepageant.org/KeyFacts.aspx)
Action shots and tales from the day to follow.
Congratulations. Highly deserved too :)
